Are you excited for the Pope’s visit to the Philipines? In in case you do not know, His Holiness Pope Francis will be in the Philippines from January 15-19, 2015. That’s from Thursday to Monday this week. In fact, these five days were declared holidays in the National Capital Region Here is the schedule of the Papal Visit 2015: To those who will take part in the Concluding Mass on January 18, here are some reminders for you: As a prelude to the forthcoming visit of the Pope, I got a chance to have my picture taken with him. Uhm, a standee of His Holiness, that is. 😉
Now, who wants to have a selfie with the Pope?
The Values Education Department of the Nabua National High School is holding an exhibit in time for the Papal Visit. The exhibit will feature Papal memorabilia and yes, the Papal standee! Like me, you can spend time with Pope Francis. Trust me, he doesn’t mind having his picture taken with total strangers and ordinary men and women. If you you live in Nabua, Camarines Sur or nearby areas, you may wish to visit the exhibit which will run from January 14-17, 2015 (Wednesday to Friday).
It’s more than enough that I got to experience to be in his most holy presence. Albeit a mere standee, I amazed at how such a figure can give you the chills and jitters. How much more would it feel it it were real? How many more butterflies will flutter in your tummy in case you meet him in his home at Vatican City? How many more churns would your stomach make if you get to see him in the flesh right here in the Philippines? To those in NCR and Tacloban, as well as other delegates who will get to see the Pope, you are so lucky! To those in other provinces, we are blessed that the Pope is in our midst. 🙂
P.S. The info graphics are sourced from the Facebook page of the Official Gazette of the Republic of the Philippines. My pictures here were taken by my brother. He and my Mom had pictures taken with the Pope standee, too. 🙂
