Nineteen: Headache, Fever, and Zzzz

Had the early morning chills today. I had rashes all over my body and the world was spinning right before my eyes. I wanted to vomit but nothing was coming out of my mouth.

Chris said I had fever and wanted to bring me to the hospital.

I declined since the morning sunshine made me feel better afterwards. He bought a bowl of hot goto (rice porridge) and drove me home.

At home, I slept the whole day. My fever went on and off and updated Chris each time.

I tried to watch Day 4 of the Chief Justice Corona’s Impeachment Trial but was to weak to even understand what the lawyers of both camps were throwing at each other. I tried to bury myself under the sheets again and catch some more sleep but my tummy was already growling with hunger.

Ma and my brother left me alone at home. For fear that something dreadful might happen to me, I called Chris.

He brought dinner: barbecue, spareribs, and lomi (Chinese flat noodles with egg). He even bought a new set of paracetamols and several doses of Vitamin C for me to consume. Take two of these daily for five days straight, he instructed.

I popped the lomi  into the microwave to revive its supposed hot serving. I prepared our dinner table complete with all the utensils, and laid our feast into plates and saucers. We ate our dinner in silence as we listened to the evening news from the tv set in our living room.

Chris left a few minutes after Ma and my brother arrived.

I felt much better after dinner. And, perhaps, the morning after.

Headache, fever, and zzzzzz. All because of one and a half bottles of

In my lifetime, this is the first time that I was able to finish a bottle on my own. Ever. Hik.

My conclusion: I shall drink no more. EVER.

I remain.

P.S. Thank you nurse Chris. You make me feel better best each time. Hik.
